Tips and ideas for hanging curtains on big window?

We have a teeny tiny house, so furniture placement isn't really up for discussion. I need some advice on curtains that will go on a big window that has a couch underneath it. If I get long curtains, will I need to pull the couch away from the wall? Is there another option for curtains? I know this is trivial stuff, but I'm ready to spruce up our place.

If you want long panels, then yes, you will have to pull the couch away from the wall. Have you considered blinds (for privacy) and then just a valance? It is an option. Or what about a valance in the middle and swags on each side? If your window isn't really wide, you can just use the swags, and skip the valance. Best of luck on this curtain issue. You will work it out and I am sure it will look good!

Schmorgen is full of Schmuurgen.

You could go with a double pole fitting with a center brace, and have 2 or 4 panels on each side of the brace. Then you can tie them back if the sun ever #@$%@#$%^#$%^ comes out around here!!!

Take a measurement of your curtains to a fabric store and choose some fabric that you like. Have the fabric expert help you figure out how much fabric you need to cover your blah with something that you will love.
