Problem downloading/installing Adobe Flashplayer 9....?

Question

I don't know what version of flash I've got at the moment but I know it's not up to date so I downloaded adobe flashplayer 9, I didn't have any other windows open and it came up with the 'Installation Compelete' movie. But somehow it didn't actually install because I have a game that works perfectly with Adobe Flashplayer 9 on the school computers but I can't play it here. I looked in the program files on my computer but no version of the flashplayer was there. I tried downloading it several times and I restarted my computer and internet afterwrads to see if it would help but it didn't. The same thing happened with adobe shockwave player.

Has this happened to anyone else or do you know how I could download flashplayer properly? I really don't understand why it hasn't installed properly when it said it did!

It could just be your browser/server. Are you using pop-up blockers that might prevent proper installation? Are you using  one of the required browsers (Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera)? Do you have the adequate system requirements[ http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/systemreqs/ ] ? Did you follow the correct instructions for your computer type [ http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/instructions/ ] ?

Otherwise, I have no idea! I did have problems with Adobe Shockwave previously. . . Then we got a new PC, no problem.

Alright - I have figured out one more thing - try troubleshooting to figure out and fix the problem!!! Here's a whole list of steps you can use to do this . . . (Note Step 3!!! BEFORE INSTALLING, So ignore step 2 because it tells you to install right after uninstalling - do not use step 2 right before step 3! Stupid people, trying to confuse users who want help!) p.s. - I'm fresh out of ideas, and, truth be told, I'm not very good at solving computer problems especially when it might have to do with internet . . . Though I did set up someone's wireless internet connection, took ages to figure out . . . Anyway - I hope you can get some help with that. If I were you, I'd go to the nearest Office Max/Staples/wherever there's a computer expert and ask then to help you one-on-one, most are willing to help you free-of-charge, but others are greedy . . . Yes, this actually happened to me a few months ago. I assume that you are using Internet Explorer 7. Simply uninstalling it and reinstalling it WON'T fix it, as this is a random compatibility error. Basically it is an error with plugins.

Nothing can fix it at the time, you need to download a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox ( http://mozilla.com ). You can install Adobe Flash Player correctly on Firefox, and I'd reccomend using this instead of Internet Explorer from now on to avoid further errors.

1. Download and run the FlashPlayer uninstaller:

2. Open your broswer again and install the latest version:

Shut down the gplayer process then try again! A quick search on the internet will tell you what gplayer is. A quick search on the internet will tell you how to shut down the process.
