door lock 2001 ford taurus repair?
The drivers door no longer locks automatically or by the remote. I can hear a 'grind' when I hit it, but it doesn't lock. I looked at the door panel, is this an easy part to remove to get to the mechanism?

The door Lock Actuator is part. It is a very common failure. The Lock actuator is attached to the door Lock/latch assembly. You must remove the door panel to gain access. The Mitchell labor guide states that it takes about 45 minutes for a professional to change it.
