My turnip grew roots and sprouted while sitting in refrigerator, is it safe to eat it?

Well, it's been there too long. But I hate to waste food. Should I eat it or is it toxic like a sprouting potato?

Turnip Sprouts

The parts with sprouts are not safe. You could try cutting those parts out- usually the potato will be green isntead of white in the bad areas- cut off all around where its green and only eat the normal colored part. That section is poisonous so you don't really want to be eating it. If they have lots of sprouts or they've grown big sprouts and not just little bumps, or the green part goes deep into the potatoes then just throw them out.

Not if it gets up and starts walking around. Otherwise you're probably OK.
