I live in NJ, why do I always see jack in the box commercials?

I see jack in the box commercials all the time but the closest jack in the box fast food chain is in North Carolina. I am just wondering why they would advertise it here in New Jersey when there are none near by.

It is good press - a great way of advertising. I have found that if I am seeing a restaurant advertisement and not seen the restaurant, it won't be long before one appears in my town. Also, it's a way of deciding if your town will be right for that restaurant. Reaction to the ads and such - And these big companies have the money to spend on advertising and since it is a business expense, it's written off. Just big business doing business.

Sonic does this as well. Certain drive through restaurants advertise outside their base, especially during the summer (road trip season), in the hope that people traveling through the area will be curious and stop by.

the jack in the box company pays for a national advertisement because it is cheaper than paying for an advertisement in only certain states
