How long does it take to drive from Tours to Paris?

Mid-week (Wednesday or Thursday), heading to the area around Gare du Nord....I am unfamiliar with Paris traffic patterns and wonder if it would be better to get into Paris as early in the day as possible, or make it a leisurely drive and arrive in the late afternoon or evening.

Traffic is Paris is horrendus at almost any time of the day or night. Parking is even worse.

Driving time from Tours to Paris is about 2 1/4 hours. the distance is 293 km.

Unless you have some special reason for driving it might be easier to take the train.

The train will take you to Paris (either Gare Montparnasse or Gare Austerlitz) from Tours in from 1hr15 to 2hr38 depending on which train you take. There are trains almost every hour. The cost varies and can be as little as 28.90 €.

it will take you less than 3 hours to get to Tours.
but try not to drive from 6 to 10 o'clock, and in the afternoon leave before 3 or after 7 o'clock... (from paris)

traffic is really bad there, as bad as any big city in the world actually !

the train is fine but you might need a car in Tours to get around. you can also rent a car in Tours, this way you won't have to go through Paris' traffic and be free in Tour !

enjoy your trip !
