Could it be true? U.S. is reportedly preparing to attack IRAN?

Breaking news reports on local stations......as per Journalist Seymour Hersh.

its just a propaganda campaign by the Bush administration to turn the whole presidential campaign into an issue about Iran. They, Republicans, want to put fear, once again, into the minds of American citizens just to win an election. If and only if things would have been better than expected in Iraq, then without a doubt US would have already launched an attack into Iran, but thankfully things are not that good in Iraq. That is why there is no way US will strike Iran. US military is weak, no one supports us, economy is in a hole. US and Israel just want to instigate Iran into doing or saying something, but thankfully that idiotic Iranian president is keeping his mouth shut. Since most Americans have no concept of the world history, Iran is no Iraq. Government is much more stable and even US won't admit this, but their military is very strong and united, unlike Iraq. Iran has a rich and successful history in wars, especially going back to the Persian Empire. Yeah, most of you will say, "that was so long ago" but don't ever discount the history!

Seymour Hersh... his "Information" has been proved wrong at least 75% of the time. THOUGH the US Government stated today that there are NO troops operating in Iran, nor expectations to do so. They did NOT deny possible CIA activity in Iran.

As a former US Naval Officer... we ALWAYS have PLANS for EVERY possible threat, no matter HOW small... YES, somewhere in a Pentagon file-drawer there are plans to invade Canada, Mexico, and even (probably) FRANCE !!

I SERIOUSLY doubt that we will do ANYTHING until Iran pulls another stupid stunt as they seem to have the habit of doing every decade.

Oh, and you anti-Semites can STUFF IT... Israel handed Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq their butts on a platter when THOSE countries tried to invade Israel. YES, Israel bowed to some WORLD pressure during this latest Hezbollah-Syria-Iranian attacks a few years back.

"She It I Do" - What an incredibly ignorant answer. I just said this in another question, but IRAN IS A PEACEFUL COUNTRY. That stuff about wanting Israel blown off the map was wrongfully translated. Iran has never, ever invaded a country, or ever started a war. While U.S. has invaded and destroyed tons, while Israel has invaded tons and has tons of nuclear weapons. Isreal is the threat, the dangerous one.

However, don't think that just because it's located near the weak Iraq, that Iran will be taken down easy, if at all. Iran has an amazing military, with weapons that nobody knows about. Also, if the U.S. attacks it would bring oil/gas prices up, and the dollar would go down. Its economy would be utter **** within a matter of a few months of war.

Anyway, Russia and China are huge allies of Iran, and HAVE developed nuclear weapons and missiles to get ready for this. But Iran doesn't want a war, we want to prevent it, if it's anyone, Israel's trigger-happy government will attack. It will turn into WW3, which would be terrible.

The only good thing to come out of this would possibly be a chance to overthrow the Iranian government. Us Iranians don't like our president at all. And the overthrow of the Shah was a terrible, terrible blow to our country.

no, This invasion, war, attack, strike on Iran's another boogie man like bringing back the draft. The only one's talking it up are the anti war types. Iran like Korea, is vulnerable to economic and political pressures. It's just takes time leaving the process vulnerable to ongoing criticism. Compare today's news on N Korea and the anti Bush criticisms, headlines from 2, 4, and 6 years ago.

Iran's population is not as isolated as N Korea. Iran's Mullahs are not monolithic dictators like Kim Jong-il, Iran's political structures and power are more vulnerable to political, economic pressures as well as, societal unrest and dissatisfaction.

It was not necessary to strike N Korea. The US has been just as successful organizing the UN sanctions against Iran. And world pressures, and UN sanctions maintain and may build on Iran.

Israel bombed something in Syria caused barely a murmur much less a cataclysm. It can be done; B2, cruise missiles. Don't need our loyal cousins. China and Russia are much less into renewing the cold war than BMWs, Rolex and their new found western wealth and life styles.

Iraq invaded Iran and fought a bloody expensive war for years. The US military swept aside the Iraqi military in days. We could similarly defeat conventional Iranian forces. Our forces that defeated Saddam were not the experienced veterans they are today. But given the aftermath of Iraq, I don't think anyone going to say that Iranians will welcome US as liberators.

The United States is prepared to attack anyone. If the the rich and powerful in this county will benefit, we will be lied to and sucked into another war, anywhere at anytime. And there isn't a damn thing "we the people" can do about it. Only in America.
