How many people here bought their bikes to save money at the gas pump? How about age, sex, miles to work, make of bike, and mileage? I'm 54 male 10 miles round trip 2008 Honda Shadow 750 58mpg

I bought what I bought, not to save money. I bought it for fun but decided that it was a hack of a lot cheaper to ride than spend that (used to be 120.00) per month is my Grand Cherokee. If I were in iIT full time I'd be paying what would be EQUAL to the payment on the bike. Also, my wife has a job that requires driving our OWN vehicles most of the day and HER gas bill is equal to her payment on her new Sorento. Oil companies just LOVE us at the end of the month.

Nope, I'm a bit of a tree hugger so I cut my gas use way before it went up. I am using more gas riding than I was before. Heck with trees I want to ride! I'm female so you aren't getting my age. I work less than a block from home. Suzuki Burgman 400 and a Znen 150
I bought my first about 19 years ago, for fun. Over time, it became my primary transportation. Finally reached the point that I junked my pickup because it had only left the yard once in two years. So, no, I don't ride to save gas. The stats you asked for: 44 Male 15 mile round trip commute, used to be much more. 2006 HD FXD35 Superglide 22693 miles 50 mpg from the showroom, about 42 currently.
I have a 1977 BMW which I have had for decades, but I get apx 35 mpg. So, I bought a 250 Ninja to commute to work 45 miles round trip at apx 60mpg. I just turned 51 and I'm an old bearded geezer that looks alot more at home on my old airhead than bent over a crotch rocket
