how come everyone is hating on the legend of Brett Favre?Please read the rest info to understand my feeling?

there just building his legacy, while everyone sits and wines about him, the real fans will encourage him on to keep playing, this man is a legend who i will never forget watching, someone who i can tell my grandkids about someday while we watch new qb's enter and leave the game. I love to watch him play because i know that in ten years i wont be able to anymore. .favre is a man of purity, a man who has dealt with a lot of hard times, and played through them. Such as his dads death, who by the way was basically his bestfriend in life, his wifes cancer. im not trying to praise him since i am a bears fan, but even so the man wants to leave the game, he reallly does want to leave his legacy behind him, the legacy of many years with out missing a game, the touchdown record, passing yard record, playing through broken fingers and emotional frailties. I remind you of his legacy of being number 4 because football was his life.!!!!! There was nothing else. He loved it. After taking care of wife during the hard times, his kids, and losses, at the end of the day he always new that on sunday he could walk on that green and gold packer field, and do what he has known and loved for years, and that is to play FOOTBALL. Play Football. Boy did he play football. After reading this i hope you haters can understand and respect the fact that its hard for him to leave the game. He kind of wants to leave but he still wants to play as long as his body lets him. Packers association did a dirty thing saying he will only play as a backup, even after all of the wins he brought to the organization, fan base, and just pure loyalship. I cant blame the guy for trying to leave. can you? Give the man credit and just let him do what he LOVES.

i will keep adding details all day long if u like, you may think its better for the franchise to move on but what you dont realize is that rogers doesnt have what it takes to take the packers to the big dance next year, the rest of the team does, but you cant win without the qb, we saw how close they cam last year even with young recievers, they have a chance to win now, not later, if you want to win put him back on the roster as a starter and you will have a better shot than most nfl teams, screw rodgers and his injurys, who wants an injury prone qb who will be done midway threw the season, grow some since pack

this will be my final detail, packers were pushing him to leave last year, they kept raising the question, dont say that he walked out, thats just not right i dont care how you spin it, i hope that the vikings sign him so that he come into lambo field and piss off the organization and make them relize what they lost. you may think he is hurting his legacy, but he is building it, just think how this will sound.. Brett farve after many years of playing with the packers, he was betrayed, and after wanting to to comeback he recieved much hate mail from media and fans telling him he has no right to come back and that he should leave, instead of listnening to them he signed with with viikings and took them all they way to the superbowll!!!!! What a legacy he has made for himself.
Now tell me that is not a good legacy, if you dont think that will happen, just keeping watching espn, and at the end of the season, just remember me and think to yourself, GOD DANMNMNM he was right

ok, to all the people who are saying "the NFL is a business" yes it is a business, and that is why the packers should want Brett Favre in a packers uniform next year. He produces wins, and wins produce ticket sales, ticket sales produce MONEY!!!!!......LAST I CHECKED, MAKING MONEY IS THE GOAL OF A BUSINESS.....so exactly, its a business not a Non-Profit Organization....if you want to make the most money in this league, you will want to WIN.

On what planet is Favre on if he thinks this is the way to build his legacy? When in actuality it's tarnishing his legacy. He's acting like a spoiled brat. He doesn't feel welcome by the Packers for a reason, the organization has moved on and they no longer need his service unless it's in a backup role and I don't see Favre sitting on the bench watching Aaron Rodgers lead the Packers. He should do everyone a favor and just keep his mouth shut.

You're right he does play football, but he is nowhere near the best qb of all time. Sure he has the record for most touchdowns but he also has the most interceptions in his career. He has only one superbowl ring. Joe Montana still wanted to play the 49ers traded him to the Chiefs. If Favre wants to play he should be traded, not relegated to the bench like the Packers are planning on doing. I'm sure he can still play for 1-2 years, but I don't see him leading any teams too another superbowl. That has passed, his action though right now have cheapened his career. He definitely needs a PR boost to get it back. It's extremely annoying having to hear about Brett Favre or the Green Bay Packers organization on what they are going to do with Brett Favre. If he really wanted to play this year he would have done what Michael Strahan did instead of officially retiring he would have told the organization he was pondering his options about if he is going to play or not, but instead he announced he was retiring.

If he loves the game so much and he realizes the Packers no longer want him and he doesn't want to go to another team. He could go play in the Arena Football League. I know different rules but it wouldn't tarnish his legacy in the NFL by playing on another team other then the Packers. The Packers need to make a decision release him or trade him. Keeping him on the bench is not an option.

Every player in the league deals with "hard times". And I'm sure every player in the league has a hard time walking away from the game they love. But Favre DID walk away, and the Packers have tried to move on. I mean, what are the Packers supposed to do? Sit there and twiddle their thumbs all offseason while waiting for Favre to make up his mind? That's not fair to the franchise, the players or the fans. You say Favre "kinda wants to leave but still wants to play". Buddy, if that's the case, then Brett Favre isn't 100% committed to football, and the Packers can't go through the season like that.

EDIT: NOW he's decided to play...with barely 7 weeks to go before the season opener. The other 50+ guys on that roster have been ready since April. That doesn't say "committed" to me. This is the same kind of diva behavior most football fans despise in a Chad Johnson or a Terrell Owens. It isn't good behavior just because Brett Favre started doing it.

I love watching Favre play. I'm a Packers fan and Favre is the only quarterback I know and love. But I grew up loving the team not just Favre. Watching Favre play was amazing, but I remember many other players as well that made the team great. Dorsey Levens, Gilbert Brown, Reggie White, Antonio Freeman, from later on Ahman Green and many others growing up made me love them even more. There's always two sides to the story, and Favre still has alot in him. I'm not sure that Packers are doing the best thing but Packers were put in a situation. This isn't his first talk of retirement, but it is his first to retire. But, Favre couldn't have been fully convinced he wanted to retire or he would have filled out the paperwork and been retired officialy. While I understand that Packers want Rodgers as starter, putting Favre him as a backup isn't going to make Favre retire and it's probably going to put a bad taste in his mouth. I would prefer though he not go to the Bears or something like that. I can also understand the confusion from the Packers. I'm glad though I'm not in either shoes. I'm a Packer fan no matter what the decision, but if Favre is playing you can bet I'll be watching. It will be weird though if he plays for another team against Packers. I can't see him playing for anybody else. I'm a fan of the game, but I'm also a fan of the man too. I just hope they can figure something out before the start of the season (which is very close). I far from hate Favre though.

I have thought the same thing many times, but I do always ask 'May I ask you a question' of clerks in stores ... this gets their attention toward me, not toward folding clothes or adding numbers or something else. I also say I need to ask a 'really stupid' question, because for some reason when I say that the person I'm asking always thinks I'm asking a very intelligent question ... As for the last question, I have just missed many busses by being across the street when it went by, and have been waiting there for fifteen to thirty minutes, and I would like to kick the questioner in the teeth when they ask if the bus has come yet ... for the same reason. Sometimes, I will tell the person every OTHER bus that has gone by as a way to get my 'small anger' out ... but find that the bus they wanted is the one that left three minutes before their arrival. What gets me is they seem to think I should have 'held' that bus for them, even though I've never even seen them before. Those people aren't just 'stupid' ... they are so self centered I wonder why they don't 'drive' ... right off a cliff!
