Do you know where I can read USPS policies and restrictions for mailboxes?

I am looking for a link to anything pertaining to USPS and restrictions of "stuffing" private mailboxes or "posting" flyers on USPS private property.
Thanks so much.

Thank you everyone. I do know about usps.com.
But, isn't there a ".gov" site of some sort?

Again, thank you for being so helpful!

You can read the USPS DMM (Domestic Mail Manual):
http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm300/dmm300_landing.htm

Regarding Customer Mail Receptacles:
Section 508: 3.1.3
http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm300/508.htm#wp1051804
CLICK on 3.0 and it will take you down to that section.

USPS regualtions do NOT allow private flyers or ANY matter that does not bear postage to be placed on or in the mail receptacle.
Such items may be picked up and then charged to the owner of the flyer for approximate postage.

Hope this helps.

www.usps.gov will redirect you to usps.com. USPS owns both URLs.

Nobody is permitted to place in, or on a supporting member, any matter not bearing proper postage in any mailbox.

What happens to packages too large for roadside mailboxes that are not picked up by addresse due to illness?

Did you try usps.com?
And it is illegal to go into any mailbox but your own.
