What does one do in Namaqualand?

I decided to go back to South Africa next year. I can't get the job in Pretoria anymore, so I've opted for a job in Namaqualand as a teacher to get the freedom, space and time to further my studies. I need to get my B.Ed and I can't do that teaching in the city. Any ideas on what I can do besides teaching and studying there?

You don´t say which part of Namaqualand, although I do not have any ideas for you, either way. Namaqualand reminds me of geology, spring flowers, and the coastal area has good crayfish etc. I would imagine it is all about sustainable tourism.

Namaqualand is on the northern parts of the Cedarberg. There seems to be some stunning scenery:

I would go out and explore nature, join a conservation club, or mountain club. It would seem that one has to become a member of something to "bond" with the area.

Well My one Aunt lives in Aggeneys, also known as Aggeneis
(Northern Cape) She ventures into Springbok/ Namaqualand often. I've not been but I have heard Namaqualand is lovely, there are alot of beautiful wild plants etc I couldn't say what exactly goes on there but it seems rather pleasant. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
