What is the penalty for falsifying a police report?

I live in Massachusetts and I was wondering what the penalty was for falsifying a police report.

In CA it can range from a fine to 3 yrs in county jail...depending on the circumstance I'm sure.

well I think it has a lot to do with if the DA has had his coffee yet .but most of the time it a fine.for a first time.
