What do you think about Mark Spitz feeling snubbed by the IOC?

It seems to me that Mark has every right to "pass the torch" to Mike Phelps. He said that he would have liked to have actually placed the *th gold medal around Mike's neck. What do you think about this?

I think Mark has been under-appreciated throughout the Phelps week. I also think that Spitz's quotes were embellished at best. The guy has done dozens of interviews in the last half year, and he has always been gracious. I think he was the victim of bored journalists.

And yes - he has been snubbed.

I think the IOC is right and shouldnt let him place the gold medal on him bc then the next person who gets a fantastic feat the person who they passes will want to do the same thing. I think the IOC did this bc they didnt want people to be asking (if this did happen) if it was wrong or right

Not to diminish his accomplishments of by gone years, but it seems to be alot of noise over nothing. It would seem his angst is not for them not allowing him to come to the games, but more from the fact that they didn't offer to pay his way.
