I am kinda tired and confused when it come to the religious view on sexuality....well I am straight and am active in a congregation in my local community....and well lately the pastor stated that he was against gay marriage....but i thought god loved all is children....and all these skewed passages that have formed having to do with this like Leviticus....well personally if god is to ignorant to accept all of his followers gay or not then that isn't a god i want to follow....well i was just wanting to know if i was the only one who noticed this....

Isn't religion supposed to be about love and acceptance? Well, at least what I thought. God does love all and tells us to love all, in yet, there are still some ignorant, idiotic people (on this message board) who don't love but rather say hateful things about gay people... You aren't the only one who noticed, your pastor has his own agenda but remember the bible was written by other people, not God, stories were made and it is more like a set of guidelines if anything. I agree with you, being Christian and also being very accepting of others, I find it hard to really understand the religious view of sexuality.
I've struggled with that issue somewhat myself. I was raised in a very conservative Christian family, but my best friend is a lesbian. I've watched her go through so much since we were kids, so many horrible bad relationships, sexual abuse as a kid, etc. And I look at how tired and sad and broken she is, and think how sad it must make God that she's been so hurt and kicked around. And I don't understand how someone can look at a girl like her who's been used, abused and ruined by men and tell her she's sick and wrong for now being who she is. The core of all my beliefs about God is that he's loving, and I truly do believe that he loves her exactly as she is. It doesn't go with the Christianity I was brought up with, but I can't see it any other way.
No, many Christians noticed. Many don't like that the church is being so outspoken about gay relationships. This is one of the many, many contradictions in the church and in the bible. I'm not saying become an atheist, but do some real research into the bible and try to se it from other points of view.
