What are your favorite trashy historical romance novels?

I am going to be on vacation next week and I really want to stock up on some quality reading material. Can anyone tell me the titles of some of their favorite jistorical romance novels. My favorite genre is medieval Scotland, Engand, and Ireland.

Try literally ANYTHING by Jude Deveraux. She is great at the "trashy historical romance". Plus, she is actually a really good writer too. Her stories always have a little something extra - they are not cliche.

(Edit: P.S. (2) of my favorite books of all time are a fictional (romantic and sexy!) accounting of the King Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot love triangle. The books are called "The Child Queen" and "The High Queen", and they were written by Nancy McKenzie. SOOOO good!!

Ooooo, well that depends on just how trashy you want to get! An absolutely fabulous series that encompasses all the countries listed above is the Skye O'Malley series by Bertrice Small. There are a million books in the series, but the best are the first two: Skye O'Malley and All the Sweet Tomorrows. If you like the series, you might continue with the story of Skye's equally adventurous daughter in This Heart of Mine. These books are very historical and VERY trashy to boot. Small is often called "Lust's Leading Lady," a dubious honor if you ask me, but I still love those books.

If you're looking for something a bit tamer than torrid, two of my favorite medieval romances are still the first two I ever read: A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught and Honor's Splendor by Julie Garwood. I can't recommend either of these books enough, if dramatic, heart-tugging romance is your bread and butter.

I agree that A Whisper of Roses by Teresa Medeiros is a classic; also try Jude Deveraux's "Velvet" series:
The Velvet Promise
Highland Velvet
Velvet Song
Velvet Angel
Be warned, though; these four books MUST be read in order or they will make no sense.

If you like medieval time travel, Deveraux's A Knight In Shining Armor cannot be topped!

Hahahaha, definately have to go with Gone With the Wind. Its not so much trashy, but, Scarlett is definately verrry different! and does a few trashy things (trashy in her time, of course)! It also taught a lot about the war while following this interesting woman through the course of a few years. If you haven't read it, I would suggest it, it is a good read, although rather long, Margaret Mitchell did a wonderful job with it.
