Question about Scion Tc insurance?

So I figured it couldn't hurt to ask about the insurance on a Scion Tc.
I'm 16 and looking into getting a scion as my first car. My family and I have state farm insurance, and I would co-sign with them. It would be a used scion with about under 50000 miles and probably a year 2006 or 2005. I live in new york if it helps and am a new driver, no tickets or points.
So I was just basically wondering how much other people pay a month or year for a scion tc, their age, the year of their car, and the state they live in.
Also and more importantly is a scion tc considered a sports car, or is it under sports car insurance. If it is how much extra monthly is that.
I would also be eligible for a steer clear program reduction, good grades reduction, and the reduction for taking drivers ed if anyone has any idea how much that would save.
Thanks for anyone who can help!

You cannot co-sign until you are 18. It is a sports car too but insurance is o more high then with others. being 16 and a female and I don't know why you will pay at least 125.00 a month if you took drivers ed and that is low estimate. especially because you will be driving your parents car and be listed as a driver only.Stae farm is about 140-180 a month depending what you get. Check progressive or your parents actually hve to. You have to be 18 to sign a legal contract.

i am 20 years old and pay 780 every 6 months for my 2005 Scion tC. They are in the top 5 for most expensive cars to insure. Reason being is lots of kids who drive them get speeding tickets and or accidents. The newer the car the more you will pay for insurance because it will cost more to repair should you get into an accident. I also drive a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and i only pay 840 a year for that. All my policies are with a 500 dollar deductible. You can raise the deductible to lower the monthly or 6 month cost but that is more money out of your pocket if you do get into an accident. You want my opinion? Get a Celica if you can find one. I had a 7th Gen celica and they were cheaper and still sharp looking cars. Or get a Corolla or Camry. They would be cheaper too the tC's are just expensive if you really really want one than just be ready to pay high bucks for one especially as a 16 year old new driver. We all went through it. I pay my own bills and i like my street bike but i pay for it. Just keep a clean record and it will go down little by little every year. Once you reach 25 it will take a huge dip because you aren't considered a minor anymore.

Unfortunately, the Scion tC is on the top 10 list of most expensive cars to insure.
It is 2nd most expensive to be exact.
More expensive than sports cars like Nissan 350z and Honda S2000.

The reason is that most of their buyers are first time drivers or under the age of 25.
So lots of accidents happen. The accident rates with the Scion tC's are very high, so the insurance adds to the cost.

Plus, 2 door cars already have higher insurance than 4 door cars.
It is not considered a sports car, but is more expensive than sports car insurance. If it was considered a sportscar, it would be one of the slowest sports cars in the world.

No matter what car you end up buying insurance will be expensive for a 16 year old new driver.
You will get the best rate if you get put on your parent policy as a part time driver.
