Laptop microphone doesn't work properly?
Well, it used to work fine, but now whatever i record sounds terrible. Playing a guitar into it sounds literally like you are just tuning up, basically it sounds like everythings being majorly compressed or recorded at the wrong bitrate, but upon a quick look it didn't look as though this was the case.
Now I don't just mean in professional audio programs, cause that soundcard never worked in those but this is in EVERYTHING, even msn and that free recorder thing that comes with windows.
There is one thing I think might have caused it but I don't know why it would!
Sometimes I use an external sound card since I am a music producer and therefore disable the internal one. Could this have messed up the inbuilt microphone. I guess I could buy an XLR mic to use with the Ext. But I'd rather save my yen :)
Ahh great. Seems it was set to "DVD quality" which this sound card can't even support! (To be honest, there's not a lot it can do!) Must auto configure it to that when I plug in the Ext or something.
Thanks for a quick response!
