The buyer of my house has been stalling for whatever reason, but keeps delaying things. Now I have moved to an apartment over 200 miles away but still in Pa. I moved due to death of spouse. Finally the sale is going to close. Instead of traveling back for the closing, rather than being there can I use a notary or proxy where I now live to witness and fax my signature?

Yes. You will need to document it with a limited power of attorney granting VERY specific rights to the person acting as your proxy, usually with an effective timeframe limited to the date of closing. That power of attorney document may need to be recorded in the county recorder's office of the county where closing will take place, and it will need to be notarized. Tell the title company what you plan to do and they should be able to assist
