There is a girl at school who i just cant stop thinking about. i don't really like her that much but she hugs me and we talk and laugh and stuff. i'm pretty sure she doesn't really like me. i would really just like something to take my mind off her if anyone has any sugestions

I don't know it sounds like she likes you. Wait a few days and see if it continues, and if it does well maybe you should take a chance, and ask her out or something. Life is about taking chances...i told one of my friends that i liked him a few years ago, probally the bggest risk i ever took but i never once regreted it. Watch her body language thats most imporant, try to decide if its just a friendly hug or something more.
However if you want to take your mind off her start talking to other girls...(ya never know it may get her jealous...then you will really know.
