I asked this question and it was misunderstood due to my ranting. I love my mutt but some people;e treat them like they are not as good as a pure bred even when we do not call them by fake names and pretend they are something their not. I do not support the creation of fake "breeds" but why the mutt hating?

No mutt hating here! I own one myself. My aunt owns one too (he might be coming to live with me soon though.) I also highly doubt that anyone truly hates them on this site, either. We just don't approve of people trying to "create a new breed" or of people breeding more animals that will more than likely end up dead or in a shelter.
You have to realize that not everyone is gung-ho about adoption and that is their opinion - they have a right to it. I personally won't adopt from any of my shelters because they (the shelters) suck - no behavior testing, very little vet care, they get the wrong info, and so on. I just don't trust them. Other people don't like not knowing the dogs' background or pedigree - which is understandable.
On the fake name issue: i call my dog a "Schnoodle" because even though she is a mutt, i know what KIND of mutt... and it's easier than saying "Schnauzer/Poodle cross" in general conversation. I always stress that she is a mutt though, not a "new breed", and that anyone interested can find one in their local shelter.
Add - Another point in mutt vs purebred... purebred dogs are predictable and their breeders (around 90% of them) do proper genetic tests and take proper care of their dogs. So purebred dogs are generally healthier when bred properly than mutts, who'se breeders are in it for the cash and not the wellness of the dog!
You KNOW what you are getting in a purebred dog but you don't know what you'll get in a mutt. Plain and simple. I would not tell someone with allergies to go out and adopt, since those dogs only have a 50% or less chance of being "hypoallergenic" Whereas a purebred poodle is less likely to aggravate allergies.
I don't hate mutts, but I made someone think I did, but that's only because their dog was aggressive and kept attacking my dog. Them mutts makes me aggravated yes, but that is because that's how the dog was raised. I wouldn't breed mutts but I would definitely adopt one and I have adopted mutts before. One of the other things that ticks me off is when people say that (for example) a labradoodle isn't a mutt. I don't understand why people get so mad when you call their dogs a mutt and they start fighting over it. If I owned a mutt I wouldn't care if someone called it a mutt because that is what it is, a mutt. Mutts can be great dogs, but they aren't meant to be bred and sold for profit. That just tells you that they are wanting the money, not because they care about their animals.
I don't hate mutts. I don't hate any animal. I hate the people the contribute to the mutt population though.
I think a lot of people on this site are dedicated to helping the animals we have in shelters, many of those being mutts. However, you will always find some people who believe that mutts are inferior and that pure breeds are the only way to go. That's just their personal opinion, it doesn't make them right or wrong. It's not our place to judge one another, so we just have to take it with a grain of salt and remember what you believe in.
I've never really understood why some people are so against mutts and so for purebreds. Both have their genetic issues. And there is no true way to know EXACTLY what your getting yourself into when you get a dog, PUREBRED or MUTT every dog has its flaws, purebred or not. I have known plenty of breeders of purebreds who have lost whole litters. same goes for a mutt. Why not stop breeding all together of mutts or purebreds and start ADOPTING from shelters since there are so many unwanted animals in shelters and rescues
i think what it is is that many breeds of dogs have in born personality traits that have been bred into them (and responsible breeders work hard to breed for personality and correct appearance), another words in a round about way its dependable you know what to expect... where as a mutt may have a very confused genealogy so in some peoples opinion he may be unreliable /unpredictable. plus some people think that the opinion of others is all that matters , so having a "show quality dog" is their priority (even if they will never show or breed). in my opinion mutts can make the best pets .
