Have you ever gotten chosen as Best Answer only to find it was deleted?
There was no violation notice. I got the note saying i got Best Answer, but when i clicked the link, it said "This question has been deleted." I answer way too many questions to have any idea if i got the points or not.

As near as i can remember, it was a straight astronomy question. It didn't even make any reference to our 7th planet - which nearly always evokes the same poor taste jokes.

Yes, it did. And I didn't understand why because according to me the question was more innocent than many. Sometimes, the asker may delete the question too and I wonder where my answer is, after I do some research and write sth. I don't understand why they delete their questions.
Yes, you get to keep the points. Happens to me at least once a week. The question was deleted as a violation, but your answer was not a violation, so you keep your points. If your answer is the violation -- you'll get the email notice and lose the points. Hope you don't have that happen.
Hello, can't say that I have that particular problem occur but one time and just decided it must have been a glitch in the system..evidently and obviously it was not, from the vast amount of answers before mine.
What has happened to me though, is taking my time and wording an answer just so, after proofreading, tweaking, etc..(k, so I am a stickler for detail..sue me...lol) And finally hitting submit.then finding out the question was deleted...ugh..no points...just some wasted time.
The floors went unswept, dishes sat..I had the *coughs* 'perfect answer!" (sobbing with crock tears)..Ok, so much for drama...lol
Yeppers...it has happened to me too! Have a great night! =)
