does Zinsser cover stain primer stay flexible or does it act like other oil base paints which dry& crack ?

all oil base paints dry ands crack over time but I need the tannin cover benefits of an oil base primer.However I need to use a water base topcoat.Zinsser says their primer stays flexible.does anyone have proof of that?

That is one of the very reasons I use Zinsser. The only actual proof I have of that is performance and durability on projects and applications I've used it on which over my career has been a lot.
