Evelyn Stratton for Ohio Supream Court and veiws on adoption Reform?...?

Question

Do you guys know anything about her? I cant seem to find too much on the internet, other than she wants to shorten to appeals process. I am confused, she seems to want to make things easier for the PAP's and terminate parental rights faster, but I am not really sure. She IS a republican which *Absolutely* worries me...

Also, is it just for Foster Care adoption, because I don't see anything about domestic infant adoption mentioned

Basically, could someone just explain her political views on adoption for me, It is very important to me that I understand her position, because I live in Ohio, and I will be voting

ps- before someone says something to me, this is NOT the only research I am doing on her, it is only a supplement

I haven't researched her, but you could look into HB7 and see if she's affiliated with it at all. Its a REAL piece of work if you ask me. It was totally a crap bill. 

I also blogged recently on how Ohio is having to make 80 million in cutbacks:

    "Records obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press show the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services also is cutting back on funding for adoption services, money to detect Medicaid fraud and funds to administer the state’s child support program.

    In many cases the money being cut goes to county agencies that manage programs for Ohio citizens. It will be up to the counties to decide how to rework their local budgets to deal with the loss of state dollars, which could lead to cuts in services."

So after reading that, I don't think that much "good" in adoption reform in ohio will be happening any time soon. I see this as a major set back and chance for a lot of exploitation of babies and natural families about to happen.

As a teacher in a very low-income school, I often see issues with parents in jeopardy of having their rights terminated.  (Running a meth lab with 7 biological kids in the house or having "adult group time" in front of your kids will rightfully bring you into question!)  The kids grow up a year or two in temporary foster care.  We all know the older you are decreases the chance for adoption as well as bad behaviors/coping skills a child learns while being bounced around.  Terminate parent rights quickly!  If you can't raise a child, you shouldn't be allowed.  We prosecute and protect animals quicker than an 8 year old child.  Yea! for whichever side of the aisle brings forth the legislation.
