First of all everything has a place and everything should be put in its place after use.
Baskets are great for keeping items organized.
Think multi purpose when purchasing furnishings. A trunk, dresser or buffet can be used to store extra linens and all of these types of pieces work well in the LR.
Footstools with lids provide extra seating, a makeshift table and allow storage for games, books, lines, etc...
Lidded totes are wonderful for storing seasonal clothing. Label the totes accordingly and remember that if you have not worn something in 6-8 months then dispose of it.
