What do you think of someone who defines giving birth as ...?

"...getting rid of the belly package that's been making me gain weight."?

She didn't keep the baby.

Just as icky as I find "I'm adopting because I don't want stretch marks"

I'd say she is someone who did the right thing by giving up the baby..... I assume that by "didn't keep" you meant adoption vs abortion

Not eyerone is meant to be a Mom (or Dad) and carrying the baby to full term and giving it up was the best thing to do for the child

It sounds like a joke to me, even knowing she placed the baby for adoption. Some people use humour to deal with difficult situations (myself included,) so it may be her way of coping.

I don't think that alone indicates she doesn't care about the baby or is indifferent to the adoption. She may be, but this one statement by itself isn't enough to make me necessarily think that.

I think she's someone who didn't want to parent her child; and made the CORRECT decisions to not kill her child and to also make an adoption plan for the child.

It depends on the context.

Though I think for most, it's meant to be humourous.

ETA: Hmmm, well that changes the context. Could be a coping mechanism. Turning pain into a joke.
