I have a five year old Kenmore (Sears) side by side refrigerator/freezer. We procrastinated about replacing the water filter and eventually the ice maker stopped working. I changed the filter and bled the air out of the line to the door dispenser. The door water dispenser works fine. The ice maker has not filled properly since before the filter was changed. Sometimes it will make a little ice but it doesn't get a good water flow. I am attempting to thaw the freezer in case the line is frozen but no luck yet. I have heard a few theories but no luck yet. Sears has offered to fix it for $250.00.

Pour some water into the ice mold. Let it kick out a batch. Keep doing that till she starts doing on her own.If it already has some ice on it take a hair dryer to it and make it release. Watch it come around and listen for it to fill.
Try the simple things first. Turn off the frig and open the freezer door. Let it completely thaw. Then turn it back on and see if it makes ice. If the problem continues, remove the front cover from the ice maker and you should see a small plastic gear (cog) in the front. It should be attached with a screw. Inspect the gear carefully to see if it has a tooth missing or is cracked. If so, go to Sears and buy another for a small price. Since you have water at the front door dispenser there is no blockage in the water line, except maybe frozen blockage into the freezer. Good luck.
maximum Kenmore's are made via whirlpool besides verify the tube interior the lower back of the freezer that supplies you the water to the no count number if that's frozen you may defrost it with a hair dryer however the venture is your water valve is leaking interior the process the valve and freezing up interior the tube interior the freezer it desires to get replaced out some have greater then one valve discover the single to the ice maker or perhaps exchange the two solid success
On the front of ice maker I attach wire from hole V to hole L to see if my water valve was working properly and it created sparks. Did I just kill my icemaker totally.
