MOST IMPORTANTLY.. seal the exclusion they are coming in from or more will come, winter is approaching. so all kinds of things are looking to stay warm.
second. are you sure they are squirrels? you would hear squirrels only in the day, but rodents you would hear at night.
next its important that you solve the problem BEFORE you fix those exclusions or you might trap them in, and then you will have an odor problem.
few things you can do... baits and traps for rodents.. (i mean snap traps) baits are better. cage traps for squirrels, baits will work on squirrels but, i try not to recommend that. or you fill with flood lights, that works on bats in attics, but not sure about the squirrels, sounds plausible
really unless your prepared to do a cage trap for squirrels, id call an exterminator.
good luck!

Call an exterminator or animal control. If you buy your own trap you will have to deal with baiting and releasing the squirrels.
