Can computer programs be transferred to another computer through a flash drive?

I want to transfer Microsoft Powerpoint from another computer to my laptop. Is it possible to do that with a flash drive?

If it were just some files that you wanted to transfer, then a flash drive would do the trick nicely.

When it comes to installed programs however, they have other files that are required in order to run (e.g. dll files, libraries, and also registry settings).

There is a utility called PCmover from LapLink that will figure out all the dependencies and allow you to transfer installed programs from one computer to another.

Basically you connect both computers with a usb data cable, and then programs are copied from one computer to another.

Yes you can if you have enough room on the flash drive and if you have the proper install files. A flash drive is no different than any other media device. If you can install from a CD or DVD then you can install it from a flash drive also.

no, if you still have the disc or know someone who has the disc for microsoft powerpoint or else you'll just have to buy it again.
