It's ok, I've tried it but it kind of sucks for guys because the place is swarming with scams from Africa aimed at guys to try and get you to send money or airline tickets. The usual scam goes something like "oh my mother is so sick and near death" "My sister and I are stuck here in africa because we got ripped off, please help" Keep in mind that it is free, and while that may be appealing to you for one set of reasons, it's appealing to someone else because they are totally broke and using the library computer to monitor the ad. Plentyoffish has a form, read it, it has horror stories about people showing up on dates looking like they hadn't had a bath in a week. I went with a pay site after a couple of months of POF, had much better results, and no desperate people looking for you to save them.

Hi "Vannili",
I don't want to sound pesimistic, but people, are people, no matter what site You go to.
Some people have found happiness this way, but generally I have found that they are mostly not confident enough to go out and do it "Naturally" , or just don't know how....what do You think our parents, and other people did ?? Ask them !!
A great deal set their "Sights" too high, and end-up dissapointed, rather than making acceptions to the fact that NOBODY is perfect.
Try it, and learn for Yourself....Good Luck !!

There's sneaky ways of going about things to make even the best dating websites free. Simple explanation is to go to a generic one, such as match.com, and type up your biography. If you have a messaging service like aim, msn, or yahoo you can try to sneak your screen name in with your information with a subtle hint on which service that your screen name belongs to.
Your biography is going to get viewed by someone, but chances are they're not going to read through your entire profile - they just want to make sure that its legit - as in you're an actual person.
You might get denied the first time, but just resubmit it again and your chances go up to get it through this time.
I've done this on several including match.com, hotornot.com and eharmony. Easy as pie.
