What is the best way to get your adoption search publicized?

My story has lies, deception, abuse, twins, and a major adoption agency doing damage control. It I need to get it out there.

Someone had my last question deleted. Hmmm, who could that be?

Seriously - I Need LOTS of great answers to pursue. Please provide lots of LEGITIMATE answers, just like you did last time.

Thank you!

I DID contact Cynthia McFadden and haven't heard back from her yet. Unfortunately, I referenced the Y!A question that got deleted...

However, Holt has decided to back down, do the right thing, and conduct the search for the girl who might potentially be my twin sister. I don't know if it was the bad PR or if they have a conscience, but I don't care - I finally might get to meet one person who knew me before my history got erased.

I appreciate everyone's answers - they were very helpful

Thank you, all of you, so very very much!

Hi AH,

I don't know if you got to read my previous answer so here it is again.

I think Cynthia McFadden is your best bet. She is an adoptee. She has also done news stories before about search and reunion.

contact your local media -- be it the newspaper's local community section or the TV. people just love to hear about all the sex, lies, etc of society.

send emails, follow up with a phone call and keep going. i had my story publicized on the local news just because i questioned why they kept referring to a person accused of a crime as "the adopted son of . . .". I was irritated with that, i called the editor of the TV Station, told him why i was mad and he apologized. He asked if there was anything he could do and i told him "absolutely -- tell my story" . . .next thing i knew, i had a reporter and cameraman at my house . . .a week later, it was on TV right after the opening night of baseball.

you can also contact your local representative. THEY DO LISTEN.

or check out your local national public radio. they're itching for things to cover.

you have to be persistant.

I would think a major news paper in the area the child was born. thats what the adoption agency I came from did. also I still have the news clipping. keep a copy of it for your child.

get a petition written up and signed, then get letters of character written, give it to your lawyer and have him submit it to the court or someone higher.

that's what im doing so i can find my child.

i know of a search angel on myspace who is very good. also, if it were me, i would never hesitate to turn myself in to the locator on wetv.

barring that? imo, it takes a government payoff, which is how mine was done.
