What color shoes do you think would look good with a deep red (Maroon) dress?
I'm going to the Marine Corps ball in a couple of weeks and I need to get some shoes - the dress is formal of course, full length and a dark maroon color, what color shoes should I go with - I wish I could post a pic but I can't find any of this dress on the internet.

Would ballet flats be okay? I always regret it when I wear high heels to birthday balls so I really want to wear something comfortable but would they not be dressy enough?

Black, silver or gold. I'd go for something strappy and sparse in the shoe dept. so it doesn't compete too much with the maroon. If you go for the silver or gold, you could tie your look together by buying a handbag of the same color.
Gold, white, or brown flats would look nice, just steer clear of yellow shoes, you'll end up with two slightly different shades of yellow and quite honestly I think that's worse than looking like a bumble bee! :)
Silver shoes would look great they would compliment the dress. I like strappy shoes. Also you could just go with black. A great place too look at shoes is zappos.com
well first u have to pick black or gold i would go with gold so u can have more stuff to match with it but I'm thinking to do a soled color with the shoes not a stripped thing but that's just my thought good luck :)
