I need to glue soft polyurethane foam to a latex Halloween mask, will rubber cement work?

Plastics can react strangely, so you might want to test it with a scrap piece of foam on a part of the mask that will be hidden. (Is there an area that will covered by your hair or costume?) Barring that, you can test it on the inside of the mask.

I'm not sure, but there is a special spray adhesive you can buy for sticking foam to foam and it's really strong (and shouldn't react) --I bought mine at a "foam" supply store --check the yellow pages.

Or perhaps you could try a contact cement, or apply E-6000 or other glues as contact adhesives are applied.

Gorilla Glue (or other polyurethane glues) will also stick anything to anything, but it swells while curing so usually needs to be clamped or weighted, and since it's yellow it will also show if not wiped away during that time.

Not sure if rubber cement would be strong enough (though use the contact cement method) but could be if the parts aren't too large and won't receive much stress.

might help if we had an concept of what this is you're surely attempting to end, what are you attempting to attach to what, are you gluing foam to a floor, foam to foam, to a wall? are you gluing foam to timber, foam to rubber? plexiglass to steel? what?...Show more
