How do I make columns in Word without the standard toolbar(or how do I get the standard toolbar?)?
My toolbar has the basics- font size, color, highlight, bullets, alignment, etc. but not columns. I asked the little wizard guy and it said to click the column button on the standard toolbar but I guess that's not what I have. So, I asked him how to get it and I couldn't figure it out so I searched on the Microsoft website but I couldn't find it there either.So, how do I get the standard toolbar to show up or how can I put columns in my paper without having it? Thanks!

Since you mention "the little wizard guy" I suspect you have a version of Word earlier than Word 2007, so I'll give you directions for those versions.
The Format->Columns menu item will give you columns, but they're the snaking, newspaper-type columns, where the bottom of one pushes into the top of the next. If this is what you want, use it.
But if you want parallel, independent columns, where the first has no effect on the second, use a table, this way:
1. Click the Table->Insert->Table menu item. 2. Give the table columns and rows as you feel like. You can always add or delete rows later. If you want to keep your left-hand entries associated with the right, make a row per entry.
Other thoughts:
1. To turn off the borders, click in the table, then click the Tables->Table properties menu item. Select Borders and shading and edit to suit. 2. Even with the borders turned off, you can show the non-printing gridlines with the Table->Show Gridlines menu item. 3. You can use the first row as a table header that will be repeated on each page. To do this, click in the first row, then click the Table >Heading Rows Repeat menu item.
