The worst that can happen is an accident the ruptures and short circuits the battery. Not a big deal when you compare this to a ruptured gas tank and hot exhaust system.
There is always the H2 gas release on charging, but again, not a big deal.

Electric cars should be good for city dwellers that do not drive long distances. I believe the biggest hazard socially is there may not be enough people that are willing to pay a lot for a very small car that has a limited range between charges. I believe this has always been the downfall of the electric car.
Many will say all you need to do is make them cheaper and install charging stations everywhere. Even if you have charging stations, it takes time to charge them. Batteries can not take a charge instantly, and even if you shorten the charge time, it takes a huge size electric supply and very large cables to carry the load. There are still just a lot of basic problems. (Cost, Range, Charging times, Size)

The hazards are that when a battery charges it creates hydrogen. Hydrogen can explode, not a mushroom cloud mind you, but can create plastic shrapnel. Could be life threatening under the worst case scenario. The battery acid is 25% sulfuric acid, not the most corrosive, but it is definitely not water. Those batteries are very expensive to replace after 3 or 4 years if that long.

There really are no additional worries on an electrical car, just don't cut the orange cables! other than that, the potential energy in a battery is far safer than the potential energy in liquid gasoline. There have been no examples of batteries exploding except in some cheap Chinese made laptop batteries (that's what you get for going to WalMart!). There are many safety systems that prevent any avoidable dangers. Most cars have an automatic fuel shutoff in case of an accident, well the same is true for electrics. I can't wait for my next Prius, the Prius plus with overnight charging capacity! The biggest problem with electric cars is the big batteries take up too much room and that limits range. Good Luck!

Hmmm....definite and no. There are distinctive fashions of electric automobiles, and a superb style of distinctive fashions which disguise categories of commerce gas. all of them create a byproduct or discharge, whether or no longer this is "pollution" is up for debate. maximum critically, whether a sparkling device does produce a similar Carbon Monoxide emmissions as classic "pollution", its the quantity it makes that we would desire to continuously seem at. maximum electric automobiles available to the generic public today are hybrids, and do nonetheless burn some gas, and hence make some pollution. A a hundred% image voltaic powered vehicle makes use of its image voltaic potential to create action via an engine. A basically electric engine would not provide off a polutant spinoff, although, in case you think approximately that the electrical powered plant on the different end of the recharging twine does produce polutants, we've come to a bad circle. Hydrogen powered engines produce sparkling water as a derivative, which, in turn could be placed via electrolosis to offer extra hydrogen to potential the automobiles. and how plenty pollution does electrolosis make? nicely, it relies upon on the place the potential for that device comes from.
