I am a Day Trader that is finally going to go multi-monitor like the rest of my friends and colleagues. I am looking to convert my current system to three screens, or should I purchase a new system? Can somebody kindly let me know what all of the Multiple Monitor options are and which one would be best for Day Trading? Thank you!

The Three main ways to Setup Multiple Monitors
1) You can buy a pre-manufactured multiple monitor computer. The best place to purchase a multiple monitor computer is at: http://Multi-Monitors.com. They carry a multi-monitor computer line called SUPER PC that can support from 2 to 12 monitors (or more if you ask).
2) You can get a USB to VGA Adapter, or USB to DVI Adapter that will allow you to add an extra monitor to your computer via any USB2.0 Port. You can also add multiple extra monitors by using multiple adapters. This is a great option for viewing documents, surfing the web, using Microsoft Office and many other business tasks. This is not a good option for intense graphical situations such as HDTV, Blu-ray, Gaming and 3D / CAD Workstation applications. For those types of scenarios, it is highly recommended that you purchase a high-powered multi-monitor workstation or a Matrox Dual or Triple Head2Go.
3) You can replace or add an extra video card to your existing computer, depending on how many monitors you wish to support. Although this sounds easy enough, this is a rather complex solution for a beginner, especially when trying to find a compatible graphics card. For this reason, I am going to write an entirely seperate post on that topic and will link to it here, very soon.

Once you have your multiple monitor system set up and ready to use, you will need to enable all of your monitors in your “Display Properties” Control Panel. Here is a great link to a complete and animated walkthrough of how to enable your multiple monitors in Windows.
Multiple Monitors & Multi-Screen Computers SUPER PC Quad monitor setup right now! You have the right idea because it's so much more efficient to have several monitors.
Right on! I'm rocking a SUPER PC Quad monitor setup right now! You have the right idea because it's so much more efficient to have several monitors. That's why all of the day traders i know are using at least 2-3 monitors these days. Just wanted to say that. Don't have much to add over those other guys that left detailed explanations.
For day trading, I would highly suggest getting a manufactured Multi-Monitor Computer from SUPER PC. That's the brand my Wallstreet office uses and most of the guys have a Quad Monitor setup. When trading stocks and forex, you really need a modern computer with a quadcore and 4GB of memory. All the newest software is somewhat demanding. Check them out at: http://www.superpccomputers.com
You don't say what kind of system you currently are using.
My suggestion is that you get a new system, because if you try to convert your old system, you will not be able to make trades until it is working correctly. And what if it doesn't work correctly?
With a new system, the old system will serve as a backup "just-in-case" something goes wrong during the warranty period, because you know it already works!
If you have a UPS to keep your system going during brief power outages, you might need a new UPS that has a greater VA rating to handle the greater current that two extra monitors will use.
