Why would someone sew copper thread through a dollar bill?
Someone gave us a dollar bill at work that had a very thin copper thread going just around the edges and I was just curious to see if anyone knew why.

A bored person could do that as a way to kill time, but it might be for a more purposeful reason, as you suggest it.
Somehow interesting.
I put your question on my bookmarks and think about it for a while. If you don't read me again, then it's because I didn't find any other reason...
In the meantime:
1. Copper is metal, and so it can make a bill easily traceable with a metal detector.
2. A copper thread may possibly damage a bill machine of a sort or a drink dispenser.
3. Copper is one of the best electricity conductors, so...?
