Did not pass emissions test on my 1991 Honda Accord?

I recently went into the e-test center to get an emissions test done on my 1991 Honda Accord EX. It passed everything except for the "High NOx on Driving Test" portion. I have heard that it is most likely the catalytic converter from several people, but really need to figure this out because I can't buy a sticker for my plates until I get an etest done, and I have about 10 days. I would really appreciate any tips/ideas you guys have. Thanks.

have the egr system checked ,the egr not working is the most common cause of high NOx just replacing the catalytic converter will only cover the problem for awhile

The examine engine easy merely comes on whilst there's a intense illness or situation with the engine. Your Honda isn't that some distance out of acceptance for emissions finding out. i may be prepared to guess that an entire song-up and a clean air filter out might probable get you thru finding out.

I would think you need a catalytic converter

1. put new o2 sensor
2. change oil
3. change spark plugs
4. put high octane gas (super unleaded).
5. go retest at emission.
