Why are people so greedy with Stars on Yahoo Answers? They don't cost any points.?
I give almost every question I answer a star.
I give almost every question I answer a star.

I give stars to questions I find interesting or unique or funny, but I have noticed that barely anyone gives stars. Maybe if Y!A gave some points to stars given, people would be more generous. I guess it is like those pennies lying on the sidewalk - no one ever notices them any longer...

There are questions I may want to reference so I star them so I can quickly go back to them, or I find a question spectacularly interesting, there are so many interesting questions here I am usually in a trance as I post an answer and go to the next two points.
If I ask a question, I am merely honored anyone answers it, considering anyone with an open connection to the internet who reads English can answer me, pretty cool. But stars are cool too, to each his own. But you do get a star, and a lemon scone should we ever have tea. Ciao.

Do you mean stingy? It appears that some think stars cost points. They do not. Repeat: They Do Not cost any points.
People who have yet to read the US Constitution, think the President can raise taxes. Congress is the federal legislative branch of government with the responsibility of taxation. Who reads the US Constitution?
There are many questions that rate stars. Who reads the point chart?
People are catching on though. The glass is half full. Do your part. Together we will do ours. Let's lead by example.

If someone asks a question that I do not know the answer to and I am interested in what they have asked I star the question so that when other people have answered I can learn something.
I also star questions that I think my contacts would be interested in answering. Sometimes my contacts do answer them.

Most people don't give stars, I read if you let people vote instead of you, that you get the 5 points it costs to do a question back
