Why does my camera keep saying that my memory card is full when I just got it?

I just got a new memory card, formatted it, and put it in my camera, and it's saying that it's full. How can I fix this or do I have to get a new one?

You formatted it and then put it in your camera? That tells me that you formatted it in your computer. Not good. Try formatting it in the camera, there should be a process in your owners manual for doing this.
