Blackberry Storm: The laggy/slow performance software issue.. fixable with a RIM update?

I've been planning to get the Storm for christmas as my 2 years are up with the enV (perfect timing too as its on life support) yet I've been hearing A LOT of people saying that the menu is laggy and it becomes very annoying.

I was just curious if its possible to fix an issue such as this with a software update from RIM? I think I would be okay with dealing with it for a short while if I knew that it could be fixed in the future with a software update.

Yeah the OS in the storm is very slow and extemely annoying. As of right now the Storm is running off the newest software version that RIM has available, Im sure it wont be long that RIM launches a software update to speed up the os and the accelerometer, if not its definitly not going to be a "Iphone killer".
