I am unable to view the messenger side panel with all of the user options.?

Question

Everything worked fine last night and now I cannot get to my contacts or anything else. I am able to sign in but that is it. I had an icon on the task bar, but when I tried to use it it just went away. Also the messenger button on the Yahoo tool bar also does not work. I did uninstall messenger and then was not able to reinstall it. So I went to system restore and that reinstalled it, but it still will not work. Thanks for any help

Try this, I was kinda having the same problem.

you may need to clear 
all of the Messenger cache files. Here's how:

1. Quit Messenger.
2. Click the "Go" menu and select "Home."
3. Open the "Library" folder.
4. Open the "Caches" folder.
5. Drag the "Yahoo! Messenger" folder to the Trash.
6. Click the "Back" button to go back to "Library."
7. Open the "Preferences" folder.
8. Find the files that start with "com.yahoo.messenger." Drag them
to the Trash. If you cannot find these files in the Preferences folder,
just look for a folder called "com.yahoo.messenger3" and drag it to the 
Trash.
9. Start Messenger again.
