Why is Taco Bell afraid to put cheese on their tacos?

I always get 3-5 slivers of cheese and 2 cups of lettuce. Do they have strict guidelines on cheese preservation?

Lettuce costs less. Plus the workers are angry they didnt get hired at Wendys, they pay better.

Yes, cheese is more expensive, while on the other hand, lettuce is cheap and they can put more on to make it look like a full taco. Ask for more cheese if you go, but its just a Business rule if that's what your asking. They always do this in any fast food restaurant you see. To find the fastest and cheapest way and still satisfy the customer. Like putting 2 or 3 pickles on a burger. Same thing, all buisness do it.

Cheese is a high cost item, while lettuce isn't. Next time you go where they have hamburgers, look at the price of the hamburger with cheese on it, from 10 cents extra or more just to have the cheese on the burger. If you know this is going to happen, ask for more cheese on your taco next time and every time you get one.

I'm guessing it's because iceberg lettuce is about 10 cents a silo, and cheese is about $8 a pound. That's how they sell those tacos so cheaply :)
