I have just recently read chapters 20, 21, and 22 but I barely understand what is going on. If you have read it, can you please fill me in without spoiling the rest of the book. One thing I don't understand is what the Volterra want from Edward.

essentially the volturi are "collectors" and Aro finds Edwards Ability enticing, he wants edward to join them so than Aro can add Edward to his little collection (like Jane and Alec).

Ok well you know already that Edward went to the Volturi to get them to kill him because he thought Bella was dead, the Volturi told him to no, so he went to town and was goin to step out in the sunlight to "reveal" himself but Bella pushed him away, and then the volturi ask them if they are sure they don't want them to join, they think they would be good for the Volterra..

edward is going there to ask them to kill him because he cannot live without bella
if they refuse hes going to force their hand by exposing himself as a vampire

They don't really want anything from him. They don't want to ecpose them selves as vampires, though. I can't really say much, I don't want to ruin it for you.
