When can we expect our Congressmen to announce they are taking a 25% pay cut?

Should not we, as the people who will be paying this incredible debt, insist that the elected officials who were at least partially responsible for the economic collapse also feel some of the pain?

Is it not wise for us to send a message to the Senate and the House that such incompetence will not be acceptable? I think a 25% pay cut and no future increases until the recession is over would be an effective incentive for our representatives to improve their knowledge and efforts in resolving this crisis.

We can expect them to take a pay cut on the 12th of Never.
I do like your proposal, though.

NEVER.
The arrogance and greed of the lawmakers never ceases to amaze me. They vote, year after year, for their own pay raises but RARELY for that of our troops! Yet, it is partially the politicians who got us into this mess we are in today. As far as I am concerned, politicians are next to worthless.

I think they'll pass that one right after they pass the law that holds any law they pass for the public to be binding on them as well. (i.e. any "national" healthcare will replace the Congress' own healthcare system...etc etc etc)
