Another thing to consider is your ignition module. I know it sound funny, but a lot of fuel injected autos are designed to shut the fuel off if it does not sense any spark. This is done to prevent the cylinders from loading up with fuel when no fire is present. The ignition module has a tendency to go out intermitently and simulates a fuel problem when the system shuts the fuel off. If you are sure the relay and fuel pump is good, try checking for spark next time it doesn't want to start. Good luck.

I had the same thing happen in my 1990 Bronco. I thought it might be the relay, but it turned out to be the fuel pump. I now have an extra relay in the glove box.

pump in the tank ? probably is, check wires in trunk area probably not under th dash, find the wires where they exit the tank and then you may be able to see if it is still intermittent after you run a temporary hot lead from the batery

Go to an auto salvage yard to buy that fuel pump or even the dealership
