Ok Duppyhead If you are an avid collector of e-books, images & videos like myself, your hard drive almost trips out on overload. Even though I have a second hard drive (which in itself is a solution), you should always be on the guard against your computer taking a sickie & even packing up all together. The answer is to upload all your movable files in (ZIP) form to a free secure file hosting site like http://wwww.box.net or other.
Your files are secured by user/password and can be retrieved at any time.
Another tip is to make use of the generous space given to you by Google & MSN ~ heaven knows we may as well get something back from the giants. 5 gigs is a heck of a lot of space & you can store all your word docs by simply pasting in as (drafts).
You may not be aware but images & especially videos take up enormous space ~ I should know as I specialize in video.
Upload your images to Flickr or Photobucket, the hosting is free and if you open a public account, others may admire them & pat you on the back. As for video - if I kept all the videos I produce on my pc, I would probably need 20 spare hard drives or burn them onto hundreds of discs ~ why do that when you have Google paying out over a million bucks a day to provide video space online?
Once you have uploaded your files securely, - bin your redundant programs or zip em & burn to disc.
After all that hoohah, give your hard drive a clean up and defrag, you will now have lots of space - enough to play space hogging games even. Hey ~ I've just gave you too much info here already.
Happy space hogging je je je.

if you have old photos, put them onto a cd and delete them from your desktop and delete old Microsoft Word documents.
