Which document would you choose as for your vision of government - the Declaration of Independences?

There are two conflicting philosophies of governance in the world. One, the American view, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence, states that all people have rights they are born with and that government's only job is to protect those rights at all costs. The Declaration says that these rights are forever and unquestioned. It is the foundation of human freedom. It is what makes the United States a Republic, where the rights of minorities (even of one) are firmly defined and protected.

The other philosophy says that government grants our rights, professing that all such rights give way to an undefined common good whenever it's warranted - which is often. That means that all so called rights are subject to the whim of whatever gang is currently in power at the time, dictating the definitions of what constitutes the "common good." Today that is commonly called a democracy, where the power of majority rule can and does obliterate the rights of minorities.

The Constitution is the form of governance to which I have sworn to God to defend against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. The Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights, enumerates what things cannot be abridged as they are inalienable. They are inseparable from the Human condition, they are Natural Law. The Constitution then goes on to specify what things a Government is needed for, which is to defend the inalienable rights. The tenth amendment then clearly states that whatever is not specifically listed is deferred to the States to decide. We have moved way past that. Democracy is great so long as you are not voting to surrender a right (as though a vote of people could rescind that which is endowed by a Creator!) or voting to take someone else' productivity to hand out checks.
"Live Free or Die" is the rally call, but in practice, those who live under freedom prosper above all others. The least amongst us live better than many people around the World.
As for Religion, The Constitution clarifies that inalienable rights have been endowed by their Creator. This respects the variety of opinions, but recognizes that in absence of faith in a Creator there can be no rights. If your belief is 'survival of the fittest', then rights are agreements given by society, and thus not inalienable. Faith in the endowment is critical to American society.
Good Luck & God Bless!

The Declaration of Independence does not outline, define, or create the US government. America was a British colony and the DOI was a a statement of rebellion.

The US Constitution is the sole document establishing the government of the United States. It was unique in human history in creating the first 100% secular-based nation.

The Constitution. It is pretty much what you say about the Declaration of Independence in that it recognizes natural law and by its terms would prevent government from meddling in natural rights.

Government can't grant 'rights'. Rights don't take from others, they are inherent. Government can only grant licenses and privileges, and since those are always at the expense of someone else, this should be done only in extreme circumstances to protect the common good.

The problem is that our Republic is controlled by the Corporate US Government. The Corporate US Government only benefits its Principals at the expense of the American citizens. The Corporate US Government does not recognize the Declaration of Independence.

DUN & BRADSTREET listings of government units, offices, agencies, and instrumentalities. There is no doubt about the search results regarding the complete ‘federalization’ or ‘corporatization’ of the purported ‘government’. Nothing about the “United States” or “UNITED STATES” is as it appears or is commonly presumed to be. It is a ‘de facto’ ‘doctrine of necessity’ by ‘occupation’ in ‘bankruptcy’ operating for the benefit of undisclosed third-party Principals who also allege to be Holders in Due Course as “Prime Creditors”. Lawful government was deconstructed when after the Civil War the states and the ten southern states were ‘Reconstructed’ during and within the Reconstruction Acts.
The current form of ‘government’ has nothing to do with lawful ‘government’ or ‘governance’ of/by/for the people or the de jure union of several American states. Every aspect of the idea of ‘government’ has been incorporated and operates as an implied ‘resultant’ equity constructive TRUST and commercial franchise of the UNITED STATES, having no fixed or pre-determined rules to run by, because the organic rules operated ‘without the United States’-District of Columbia, ‘within the United States of America’, which is a diverse and distinctly different entity at law in commerce.
This subject can be elaborated ad nauseam, but the gist is what you may have already summarized and concluded. How can a corporate executive of a non-Constitutional entity be held accountable to his actions under a Constitutional standard, where there is no one in any aspect of the same CORPORATION that has authority to do so? Furthermore, the CORPORATION itself has no nexus to the Organic Constitution for the United States of America, where exist the only mechanisms and constructs for ‘lawful government’ and protections of un/in-a-lien-able Rights under the Bill of Rights. The CORPORATION is itself an abomination. The Federal Convention 1787, September 14. The state delegates voted on the motion to delegate authority to Congress to incorporate or to grant charters of incorporation, and it was explicitly rejected.

The Constitution is our government document. That is how our government leaders are to govern by the Constitution. Over the years, amendments have been added but it is the same Constitution created by the founders of the United States.
