lemme educate you:
drums are the rhythm of a band, it's like their heartbeat, it keeps the timing down. if the drummer is off timing, the whole band will be. they hit "drums" which are basically some cylinder shaped instruments which produce a thud, cracking, or clashing sound.

bass is the low end of the sound. it can be a bass drum, which produces a thud noise, or a bass guitar, which produces a really low tone. not many people pay attention to bass guitar, but it's necessary when making music.
