Why can't hamster owners spell hamster?

If you're going to own a pet, learn to spell it. There's no such thing as a "hamPster".

Furthermore: its a chihuahua, not a chiuaua (chee-ow-ow?). Rabbits and ferrets are not rodents. And Bettas are not letters of the Greek alphabet.

Well, first, not everyone that posts here speaks English as a first language.

Second, not everyone here realizes that the squiggly line under what you're typing IS a spell checker!

If they love their pet, what difference does it make if they can spell it right? Most people can't spell pneumonultramicroscpicsilicovolcanoconiosis, [Edit: it ends in coniosis but YA is putting in the ... because the word is so long] but I don't hold it against them.

I took the liberty of examining some of your answers. You've used quite a few incomplete sentences -- should I now consider you an incapable pet owner?

Maybe we should put our energy into educating and helping people instead of criticizing how they spell a word?

Edit: Rabbits are NOT rodents. Check out the following from The Nature Trail blog:

Is a rabbit a rodent?

No, a rabbit is a lagomorph. Rabbits (both European and cottontails), Hares and Pikas are all lagomorphs.

I agree. Yahoo has a spell checker for a reason.
