How long was your AIT?

I never went to AIT, I went through OSUT...
I was wondering what it was like, what was/is your MOS, and how long was it?

Thanks for the insight

I went through OSUT as well; MOS, 19K, Abrams tank crewman. 16 weeks at Ft. Knox. All 3 phases were very hardcore, probably more so because we lived in the same building as a company of Marines who were also training to be tankers, although on M60 tanks, the Abrams predecessor. These days both Soldier and Marine tankers use the Abrams tank, Soldiers have the M1A2 and Marines the M1A1;(might be A3 and A2 at this point, I'll have to look into it). I can speak in regard to Soldier vs. Marine tanker training, there was always competition, whether mentally or physically, neither one can claim superiority over the other. Of course, during our time at Ft. Knox each believed to be superior over the other.(Some of us have the scars to prove it) LOL. Once a soldier, always a soldier! WHOAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How 'bout u? MOS? Where did u train? Are u still in? Where are or have u been stationed? What unit(s) have u been in? What do think about the military lifestyle? I miss it very much. If u want, I can get more detailed with my Army experience. Freedom ain't free brother! 3rd ID and 3rd Armored Calvary Reg. Former Sgt./E-5, 19K20 M1A1 tank gunner.

My MOS was 92A and the AIT was at Fort Lee, VA. It lasted about 13 or 14 weeks. It was fun for me because of the people that were around me.

My boyfriend's AIT lasted from May 23-July 17, I think that's about 8 weeks. He went for supply specialist.

May be wierd I know exact dates but I spent since March 5 counting down the days until he came home haha.

25S. Back in the day when I went through it was 10 months. It's 6.5 months now. It was like an orgy in the local hotels, just like any other Army school. Some things never change.
